My name is Esther O’Neill, and I am the founder of Present Moment Counselling & Psychotherapy.
I am a fully qualified and IACP accredited Counsellor & Psychotherapist. I have a First Class Honours Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a Professional Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am currently completing a Masters in Mindfulness Based Interventions with UCD.
My own personal journey and my professional experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist has led me to firmly believe in all the potential that each person has for growth and healing, and in the vital role that the counselling space can provide to support and facilitate this growth.
In my work I use a Humanistic and Integrative approach. This means that the core principles and values of compassion and respect of Humanistic counselling guide my work, but in addition, I use a variety of techniques and ways of working tailored to each and every client, based on their unique needs and what they hope to achieve from counselling and psychotherapy.
I am a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), and an Associate Member of the Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI). My work as a counsellor and psychotherapist complies with and adheres to the IACP Code of Ethics and Practice, details of which can be found here.
As part of the requirements for all counsellors and psychotherapists, I attend regular supervision, and engage in continuous professional development.
